Looking through some old drives today and I came across a few outtakes from the video I made featuring the lovely Jaime Winston for super cool underground band Art Department. These clips didn't make the edit... But I'd thought I'd share a few screen grabs with the world instead of keeping them hidden away on a dusty hard drive. So voila.. might see what else is floating about.

Little Boots Video goes LIVE

It was such a pleasure for me that Vic from Litle Boots got in contact and had been a fan of my fashion films for a while. Vic wanted me to pitch on the Every Night I Sayer A Prayer video. I loved the track and it was exciting to create something very different to any of the videos she has done before. Initially inspired by Paris is Burning we wanted to draw on the performance element and make a more london, and abstract version. In this realm we wanted to create a more conceptual take on a music video. Moving into more of a dance:performance video. The theatre esque vignette's for our sets were based on different stages during a play/performance. For example -the curtains, the green room/waiting room, the actual performance and the after party/contest scene... These tableaus (living pictures) relied on movement happening within the frame coming to life with an amazing cast and amazing performance from Vic! Watch it here. Hope you like it!

My ASOS film made number 3!

Check out the the TOP TEN Films of the season on The Business of Fashion super duper website. "Zaiba Jabbar’s film for Asos Revive’s sporty 16-piece capsule collection designed by London-based Ebru Ercon, former head of design at Adidas by Stella McCartney, perfectly captures the late 80s to early 90s rave revival that’s in the air. “The film was definitely inspired by music videos, most notably Inner City’s 1988 Big Fun,” Ercon told Susie Bubble, on whose blog the video was first premiered." Piers Atkinson AW12

The film was shot entirely using a variety of iphone apps. I love the extreme colours and raw quality of the image. But at the same time adds a slick modern feel to the film.

The 2 BEARS "WORK"

Recently featured on The Guardian's one to watch list for 2012 The 2 Bears (a.k.a Joe Goddard of Hot Chip & Raf Rundell) have a very apt new release to kick the year off. "WORK" is a house-fuelled anthem with a video that sees the Bears leaving their ursine costumes behind and heading into a new direction

The video took us to the very charismatic brixton market, a real departure for me, as I'm more used to swirling colours and trippy-vibes than descaling fish and hanging out at the veg-stall.

There was nothing complicated about the idea, we simply wanted to capture an essence of working life. Brixton market was the location as Raf's wife, Rosie, has a great deli down there and although the shoot didn't pass without trouble (we got kicked out by the market-manager!) we ended up with enough material to match Joe and Raf's pithy and pitch-perfect epithets to the need to get up every morning - work harder, for each other, for the future, my love we gotta work."
